(From 1980-81 Season...)
Another of the new kids on the 1980-81 SJSU wrestling squad, W. Jay Slivkoff is a freshman from Los Gatos. Jay is a two-time CCS placewinner for Los Gatos High School. Last year, "Sliv" was league champ and capped his prep career with a 3rd place finish at the CIF State Meet at 141-pounds. He placed 3rd this past summer at the Junior USWF Greco-Roman Nationals. Jay will wrestle at 150-pounds for Coach T.J. Kerr. An electrical engineering major, he enjoys fishing and packpacking. Born 10-10-61 in San Jose, Ca. 
 
(From 1981-82 Season...)
A returning sophmore from last year's PCAA Championship team, Jay is a one year letterman at Sparta. He wrestled to a 26-16 mark, includidng a 14-5 dual meet record and a 9-11 tourney slate. Wrestling two weights last season, Jay was 11-11 at 142-pounds and 12-5 at 150-pounds. Last season, Jay took 5th place honors at the SJSU Mumby Invitational and 3rd at the PCAA Championships. He competed a lot over the spring and summer and won the USWF State Open Freestyle title while being the runnerup in Greco-Roman.  
 
(From 1983-84 Season...)
Joining the list of PCAA titlists, Jay compiled a 20-12 mark last year, including a 2nd place finish at the Beehive Tourney, and 4th place at the Biola Invitational. Jay's career total now is an impressive 43-28. This past pring, Jay trained hard to make a good showing at the Concord International Greco Tournament. Year-round training is second nature to this veteran, which is sure to mean a lot of achievements for Jay this season.
