SJSU Wrestling Archives Roderick Paul McKinney                           (From 1978-79 Season...) A sophomore returnee who may have to be red-shirted in 1979 due to an injury problem, Rick brings a 1-3-1 career record into '79 from his frosh season in 1978. He will wrestle at 134 if he is able this season. Rick came to SJSU from Livingston High, where he was a two-year footballer and a four-year wrestler. He was coached by Bud Powell in the prep ranks and earned MVP of the team three times, the league title three times, Most Inspirational twice, team captain three times, and Outstanding Lightweight. he was 119-14-1 overall and placed 3rd in the subsection, 1st in the San Joaquin Section and 6th in the California State Meet. His brother, Ron, wrestled at Cal Poly-SLO. Rick is an elementary education major and plans to teach after his SJSU graduation. Born 4-6-59 in Redwood City, Calif.
