Coach Bill Hubbard

Original creator of the wrestling program at San Jose State College in 1935, SJSC's team was one of the first collegiate wrestling programs on the West Coast. Bill Hubbard had never wrestled in his life, but took up the sport to be a better coach. Leading the Spartans in 1935, Hubbard recruited Gene Grattan to take over the program in 1936.
