Spartan Grapplers Win Eugene Grattan Memorial Tourney |

| Capturing four titles, San Jose State's wrestling team won the top honors in the Eugene Grattan Memorial amateur
wrestling tournament Saturday night at the YMCA gym. The meet, a tribute to the late Eugene Grattan, former wrestling mentor at San Jose State, was held in three divisions. The Spartan varsity, PCI champs, won the unlimited division when Ivan Olsen, John Peebles, Vic Gorin, and Charles Smith won titles in their respective weight divisions. Friday night, the Spartan grapplers took and early commanding lead on the trophy when Dave Kawamoto and Peebles entered the final round by drawing byes. Bob Mosher of Moffett Field and Armas Arielo of the YMCA were the other two title winners. |
