Wrestlers Leave For Coast Bouts

Genial Gene Grattan sends his wrestling trust to Berkeley this afternoon for preliminary bouts in the PCI wrestling tourney which will take place tody and Friday.

Finals in the gigantic tournament, in which seven coast colleges will participate, take place in the University of California gym tomorrow evening.

Mentor Grattan feels that at least two Spartan entrants should cop first places. These men are John Jones, undefeated on the Pacific Coast for the past two years, and Keith Hughes, wiry 126-pounder who is entering his second big tourney this season. Jack Fiebig and Jack Smith were also counted upon as certain winners, but they will be withheld from the bouts pending completion of late grades as a result of their trip to Pennsylvania during the spring vacation.

Seven colleges are sind entries to the 1938 PCI wrestling meet: Nevada, Whittier, Cal Aggies, California, Stanford, Santa Barbara State, and San Jose. Most of the trouble is expected from California's Bears. Either the Spartans or the Bears are being picked to cop most of the honors when the tourney winds up Friday evening.
