Wrestlers Win Meet With California |

| Closing their home season in a very successful manner, the Spartan wrestling team was victorious over the California
Bears. The SJS wrestlers won by a 26-10 count. Bill Binkley, Richard Lucky, and John DeMello were successful in throwing their opponents and Peter Enos and Arthur Philpott gained decisions over their Berkeley foes. Probably the feature bout was the DeMello-Pallack match. It first seemed that the powerfully built Californian would be too much for the Spartan heavyweight, but DeMello, nearing the close of the bout tossed his larger opponent into defeat. The results: Salameda (SJ) won by forfeit Yamamoto (C) threw Haeberle Dalo (C) threw Fisher in 2:43 Binkley (SJ) threw Lunds in 9:35 Lucky (SJ) Fellon in 8:38 Enos (SJ) won by decision over Watt Philpott (SJ) won by decision over Bischoff DeMello (SJ) threw Pallack in 3:11 |
