Spartans Blank Gael Matmen

| The SJS wrestling team completely overcame an undermanned St. Mary's team last Thursday night on the Spartan mats
with a 44-0 whitewashing. |

| It was evident that the Gaels are not too strong in the wrestling scene this year as the Spartan wrestlers gained
victories in three matches by forfeit and four more wins by falls. |

| Pete Murchinson (177) and Terry Kerr (123) of SJS made short work of their opponents with pins in times of 1:15
and 1:30, respectively. |

| Paul Hatling (191) polished off his man in 4:15 with a pin while Roger McClaughry pinned Tom Miles of St. Mary's
at the 4:30 mark for the unlimited class victory. |

| Dick Rose (137), Arno Dominguez (145), and Walt Thatcher (167) all scored decision victories for the Spartans. |

| The Spartan matmen are looking forward to the PCAA championships which will be held at SJS this Friday night at
7 and if the performances of the Spartan wrestlers against St. Mary's are any indication, they appear ready to
go. |
