| The Spartans scored their second win over the California freshmen last night when the local grapplers took a 20-16
decision from the Bear yearlings. The Hubbard-Grattan coached boys from San Jose got off to a bad start, but finished with a bang and took the match. The winners for San Jose were Glover, Philpott, Lucky, and Maynard, plus a forfeit in the 118 pound class gave the Spartans their victory. The summary of the bouts is as follows: 118: Forfeit to San Jose 126: Forfeit to Cal 135: Fisher (SJ) lost to Darly (Cal) by a fall 145: Binkley (SJ) lost to Byan (Cal) by a decision 165: Glover (SJ) won over Lock (Cal) by a fall 175: Philpott (SJ) won over Bischoff (Cal) by a fall Hwt: Maynard (SJ) won over Pallack (Cal) by a fall |
