8 Spartans Named For PCI Tourney |

| Eight Spartan matmen have been named by Coach Ted Mumby to participate in the PCI wrestling tourney which is being
held in Los Angeles this weekend. Five lucky matmen will fly down to Los Angeles for the meet. The Spartans, who were barely nosed out for the CCAA wrestling crown by San Diego State, have been working hard all week and are eager to avenge the Aztecs in Los Angeles. Their other opponents include Whittier, California, UCLA, and more unidentified squads. Team co-captain Hans Weidenhofer is the only Spartan to have won a previous PCI title crown. He took the 175 pound championship in 1942. Weidenhofer also won the CCAA 175 pound title at Santa Barbara this week. Bill Rodman also won a CCAA title crown in the 145 pound division. Spartans who are participating in the meet include: Bill Rothwell (121), Carl Holmberg (128), Tom Payne (136), Rodman (145), Ray Miser (155), Pat Felice (165), Weidenhofer (175), and Keith Wilson (hwt). |
