Seven wins out ten matches was the score chalked up by the San Jose State wrestlers in their meet with the Oakland
YMCA team held at the Spartan Pavilion Friday night.
Jack Fiebig at 125 pounds was the outstanding star of the evening adding another double win to his record by tossing
Lee Dyer in 3:22 with a combination scissors and half nelson and later pinning Melvin Dill in 1:27 in an exhibition.
Glenn DuBose provided the real climax to the entertainment, however, when he went to work on the 267 pounds of
opposition provided him in the person of Owen Croll, YMCA heavyweight. Outweighed by more than 50 pounds, DuBose
was the aggressor form the opening bell finally dumping his opponent with a body slam that shook the building in
the quick time of 2:17.
Herb Ferguson, 165 pound Far West champion, was outstanding for the visitors throwing Earl Glover of San Jose in
two minutes with a double armlock. Glover, substituting for team captain Arthur Philpott, gave his opponent a 10
pound advantage in this match.
In the light heavyweight match Bruce Allen, replacing Peter Enos, forced to withdraw due to back injuries, also
handicapped 10 pounds, threw Bruce McManus of the YMCA in 1:47.
