With all matches wrestled except one resulting in pinnings San Jose State's mat squad glided to there fourth straight
victory Monday night, downing the SFS Gators 32-7.
After Dave Armstrong (123) pinned his opponent Ed Wong, Dick Alderson drew a tie with Bell Denyer for the only
decision on action that wasn't a pin.
SJS then collected on two forfeits in the 137 and 147-pound classes. Bob Lopez and Warren King represent the Spartans
in these classes.
Cliff Olson resumed action by pinning his opponent John Hohn. Fred Yrueta and Ron Rucigno did likewise with George
McNeal and Rich Blaettler.
Paul Hodgins suffered the only Spartan loss, being pinned by his opponent Al Abraham.
The varsity will continue their schedule Friday and Saturday, when they participate in the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate
tournament at the University of California.
Coach Hugh Mumby plans to enter nine men in the tournament. |
