Frosh Matmen Beat Cal Aggies |

| The California Aggies varsity furnished little opposition for the powerful freshman wrestling team Saturday afternoon
at Sacramento. The Spartlets, under the direction of Jay Berger, commerce teacher, who took over in the absence
of Gene Grattan, lost only two matches, winning 36-6. Karl Kuhl (hwt) and team captain Dave Hines (155), were outstanding for the freshmen, both scoring double victories. Mike Bartola (145) also wrestled twice, winning one and losing a decision. Another Spartlet casualty was Bob Holtorf (165) who lost a close decision to the captain of the Aggies. Other San Jose winners were Dave Osmond at light-heavyweight, Alvin Duty (135), and George Yoshisato (128). |
