Matmen Win 9th At San Quentin |

| Coach Ted Mumby's varsity wrestlers made it nine straight Friday night, as they won over a strong wrestling team
at San Quentin, 29-10. The Spartans captured all but two of the nine regular bouts and scored a decision in the exhibition match. Pettit and Fisk were the only winners for the opponents. Pettit won by a fall over Bob Smith and Fisk scored a fall over Hans Weidenhofer when the latter suffered a shoulder injury. Spartan winners were Bill Rothwell, Bob Johnston, Jim Shouse, Bill Wardrup, Ray Miser, Bill Elam, Pat Felice, and Keith Wilson. Friday and Saturday the Spartan wrestlers will enter the Far Western championship tournament at Oakland. Entries in this tourney will include all the teams in the Bay Area. |
