Now on its home stretch of its 1962-63 season, the SJS wrestling team hopes that today's match with San Francisco
State will inject the need adrenalin to make the current campaign end on a successful key.
The two teams tangle in the Men's Gym at 4:30 pm. The SJS freshmen play host to San Jose City College in a preliminary
clash.
To date, the Spartans have fashioned a 3-5 record in dual meet competition. After tonight, Hugh Mumby's grapplers
have only engagements with Santa Clara and California and the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate championships on March
1-2.
SF State finished a distant eighth in December's Northern California tournament, won by the Spartans.
The bright spots this season have been unbeaten 147-pounder Warren King (10 wins and one draw) and heavyweight
Don Anderson (4-1-1).
Gary Scardina (157) has notched five straight frosh victories. |
