SJSU Wrestling Archives The Spartan Daily 2-19-41                   Matmen Risk Undefeated Record Friday           Coach Sam Della Maggiore's undefeated Spartan wrestling team makes its first home appearance of the season Friday night at Spartan Pavilion against the University of Nevada in a preliminary to the San Jose-Nevada basketball game. The Spartans have disposed of San Francisco State and San Francisco YMCA so far this season and will be favored to keep their record unblemished. Last year San Jose narrowly defeated Nevada in a dual meet here. With the big Far Western tournament only two weeks away the matsters are in strenuous training to make a good showing. Della Maggiore will enter approximately 20 men in an effort to capture the title for the first time since 1937. Captain Mel Bruno is the only defending titleholder returning for San Jose. Fortune Masdeo, who won the welterweight title for three consecutive years has failed to return to school.
