SJS To Face Gators And Olympic Club |

| Coach Ted Mumby's highly touted Spartan varsity wrestling squad faces a busy schedule this week meeting three teams
in three nights. Included is the strong Olympic Club team in the final home meet of the season on Thursday evening.
The Spartans meet San Francisco State and San Quentin Wednesday and Friday in the opponents' gyms. The Spartans have now won their sixth meet in a row. Their first victory this season was against UCLA, but they lost to California in their second regular match. They have defeated Stanford twice, San Francisco State, SF and Berkeley YMCA, and won the NCJW tourney. The Olympic Club squad will bring three champions with them including Doc Northrup, who won the NAAU 165 pound title last year. Bill Houghton also may be with the team. Houghton is the 1945 Eastern Junior Nation 155 pound champ. |
