Matmen Face Berkeley Wednesday |

| Coach Ted Mumby's Spartan wrestling squad will meet the Berkeley YMCA here in the Men's Gym Wednesday evening at
8:00. Little is known about the Berkeley boys at present writing but should have some valuable data on them in
tomorrow's match. The squad is going through a series of elimination bouts to determine who will be the wrestlers against the Berkeley grapplers. The Spartans have now won four meets including the Northern California Junior Wrestling tournament. Friday, the wrestlers will travel up to Palo Alto where they will seek their third straight triumph against the Stanford Indians. The Spartans defeated them twice before by close margins and this meet should be an equally close and thrilling match. An amazing incident occurred in last Wednesday's tussle match with the San Francisco YMCA. It seemed that there was a slight mixup as to who would wrestle the second match of the evening. In fact, it was so complicated that our lightweight was matched against a heavyweight. The two even started to wrestle before the error was detected and the scheduled bout finally went on after several minutes delay. |
