SJSU Wrestling Archives The Spartan Daily 12-9-41                   Novice Grapplers Vie For Honors Thursday Night           The annual novice wrestling tournament will be staged Thursday evening in the Men's Gym, starting at 6:30. Both the eliminations and finals will be held instead of the originally planned two-night show which was canceled last week, states Sam Della Maggiore. The four teams continue their workouts each night in the little gym under the coaching of the respective varsity wrestlers. About 40 hopefuls have signed to date with the Blondes, under the mentoring of Ivan Olsen and Al Long, leading the teams with 18 grapplers. Other teams are the Chicagoans, coached by Paul Anderman and Jim Fowler; Adonis, coached by John Peebles; and the Varsity House team. coached by Dave Hines. All participants will weigh in at 3:00 Thursday afternoon in the little gym, states Della Maggiore.
