Entries of San Jose State's annual Northern California Intercollegiate Wrestling Tournament on Saturday in the
Spartan Gym are due in the wrestling office by Thursday evening, according to coach Hugh Mumby, in charge of the
tourney.
All amateur wrestlers, carrying 12 or more units, are encouraged by Mumby to enter.
There is a one dollar entry fee, payable before Saturday noon, the starting time of the tournament.
Colleges will enter any number of men in each of the eight divisions, but only one man can compete for team score
in a division.
Trophies will go to the top team and individual weight class winners, while plaques will be awarded to second and
third place finishers.
Rules governing the tournament will come form the 1960-61 NCAA handbook, with the only change slated in the length
of the matches.
Three two-minute rounds will be wrestled, rather than the customary three rounds of three minutes in length.
Weigh-in is slated for 10 am Saturday in the gym. |
