Featuring eight schools, the 6th Annual Northern California Intercollegiate Wrestling Tournament will be held here
Saturday. Fresno State is favored, but the SJS wrestling squad will be out to retain its title held for the past
three years.
Even though FSC is the favored team, Spartan coach Hugh Mumby believes, "We have a pretty good chance, but
we have been weakened in four weights." He said SJS will be the favorite contenders.
Presently, only two weights have been determined. Paul Hodgins, who won third place in the meet last year, is wrestling
in the 191 class this year. Don Anderson takes Hodgin's former position and wrestles as a heavyweight.
Challenge matches were held yesterday and being held today to determine the starting lineup. |
