Coach Hugh Mumby's wrestlers will spend the week preparing for Saturday's fourth annual Northern California Intercollegiate
Wrestling Tournament in Spartan Gym after notching one division title in the novice meet at Berkeley over the weekend.

Modesto Junior College dominated the annual tourney, held in Cal's Harmon Gym, by grabbing four of the eight championships
on the block.
San Jose State, however, gave a good account of itself as four men reached the finals.
Ali Alley lost a 1-0 decision to Eddie Davis of FCC in the 130-pound class. Mark Parrish was outpointed 2-0 by
FCC's Jim O'Neal at 137 and Modesto's Sam Huerdia decisioned Spartan Larry Haswell by the same count in the 147
class.
Cliff Olson was the other San Jose finalist, but he lost a 4-1 decision to Dennis O'Connell, also of Modesto JC
in the 157 weight division.
Fraternities and independent groups may enter any number of men in each weight division of the tourney, which will
be run under the auspices of mat coach Mumby. NCAA rules for the 1960-61 season will be enforced. |
