SJSU Wrestling Archives The Spartan Daily 11-4-40                   Matsters Enter Junior PAAU Tournament           Wrestling coach Sam Della Maggiore is planning to enter at least 15 freshmen and novice matsters in the big Junior PAAU tournament scheduled for Saturday night in Spartan Pavilion. This is the first year San Jose has played host for the tournament, and the Spartans will be out for their first Junior PAAU title. Last year the Olympic Club nosed out the Spartans for the team title, although San Jose won two individual titles. The tournament is open to every wrestler who has not won a previous gold medal, and freshmen as well as varsity men are urged to sign up with Della Maggiore immediately. Ivan Olsen, a transfer from Los Angeles City College, is expected to win his division against competitors from University of California, California Aggies, Olympic Club, San Francisco State, and several YMCAs. Other Spartans expected to enter Usher Tucker, John Mangus, John Hughes, Sammy Zones, and Paul Steiling.
