SJS Wrestling Season Starts |

| The college wrestling team will open a 13-event dual meet schedule Dec. 2 when they will meet the San Quentin matmen
at the prison. In addition, the Spartan grapplers will participate in five tournaments. Coach Hugh Mumby who guided the Spartans to eight victories in nine meets last year, will be starting his second season as head coach. He is optimistic about the club despite the fact only four lettermen returned. Heading the list of returnees is Dick Francis, who will defend his PCI 177-pound championship; Dave Leslie, who was undefeated at 157-pounds last year until sidelined by an injury; Pete Herder (147) and Kay Toyota (123). Included in the season matches are meets with University of California, there; Washing State College, here; UCLA, there; and two meets with Stanford University, one in San Jose and the other at Palo Alto. |
