| An old wrestling rivalry will be renewed at 7:30 tonight in Spartan Gym when SJSU plays host to powerhouse Bakersfield

| The Spartans, 1-0 after a 43-3 decision over Chico State last Thursday, will be making their home debut against
a Division II team which finished sixth in the NCAA Division I championships last year. SJSU place ninth. |
| |
| "It's a friendly competition," SJSU coach T.J. Kerr said. "We respect each other. It's kind of a
bit meet for a lot of people. We get a chance to see what each other has." |
| |
| Bakersfield State, the defending Division II champion, will be wrestling in its 1982-83 season debut. SJSU won
last year's home meet 21-18, but lost 37-5 at Bakersfield. |
| |
| "They know how big the meet is," Kerr said about the Spartans. "There's a lot of pressure. It's
going to be a close meet." |
| |

| |
