Matmen Dominate Chico Tourney |

| Ten Spartan wrestlers placed in Chico Fall Freestyle wrestling tournament Saturday. The tournament included wrestlers from Chico State, Cal State Bakersfield, Sacramento State, as well as a host of others. First places for the Spartans were won by Brad Gustafson (125.5), Wayne Jones (136.5), Eddie Baza (149.5), Dennis Shea (163), Reggie Thompson (180), and Jerry Morrison (220). SJSU assistant coach Tihamer Toth-Fejel won a second at 149.5 pounds for the Spartans, and third places captured by Brian Canali (125.5) and David Barnes (149.5). The Spartans' first home action will be Nov. 5 for the Blue-Gold inter-squad battle. |
