Wrestlers Look Impressive In First Workout |

| Promise of a banner year for coach Sam Della Maggiore's Spartan wrestling team was shown in the season's first
workout last night, with the largest freshman turnout in history and seasoned veterans returning in almost every
position on the varsity. Four dual meets have been lined up for the freshmen, and Della Maggiore promises completion of the varsity schedule soon. Negotiations are underway for meets with Washington State, Whittier College, UCLA, California, University of Wyoming, University of Nevada, and California Aggies. Team captain-elect Mel Bruno is still a question mark as far as competition is concerned due to an elbow injury last year. Della Maggiore will use Bruno this year if an x-ray examination reveals the break properly healed. |
