Wrestlers Take 6th Straight Championship |

| San Jose State captured its sixth consecutive Northern California junior wrestling championship Saturday night
at the Berkeley YMCA. Coach Ted Mumby's matmen scored 70 points in taking three titles and several seconds and thirds. Spartans champs were Jonas Robledo (115), George Lao (123), and Johnny Melendez (147). Alameda Naval Air Station placed second in the big meet with 44 points. Treasure Island was third with 22, and Stanford's Indians were fourth with 20 points. Alameda's Bob Musser (191) was voted the outstanding wrestler of the tournament. |
