Wrestlers Meet SF YMCA Tonight |

| Kings of the crinkled necks and crumpled torsos have their night this evening spacious Spartan Pavilion when wrestling
mentor Eugene Grattan sends his frosh and varsity squads against Modest Junior College and San Francisco YMCA in
the first matches of a long, grueling mat schedule. Festivities begin at 7:30 sharp with the frosh encountering
Modesto's Pirates. Impresario Grattan sings loud in his praises of Sparta's current crop of matadors and tonight's double feature will largely determine just what kind of a prognosticator Gene is. Seven varsity matches are schedule and eight frosh tussles will be run off. Nothing is known of the visiting delegation except that the YMCA always produces clever grapplers and Modest JC has an excellent team this year according to reports. Victors in Wednesday evening's intersquad bout will face the YMCA tonight. This means that the following varsity men are participating: Jack Fiebig (126), Martin Olavarri (135), Carleton Lindgren (145), George Wenglein (155), Mel Rush (165), Jack Smith (175), and John Jones (HWT). Eight frosh matches will precede the varsity show. A large crowd is expected to witness the opening match of the season. |
