Stone, Harm Spark Matmen To 22-6 Win Over Wildcats |

| Pins by Mike Stone and Bill Harm led the SJS wrestlers to their second dual meet win of the season Saturday, a
22-6 defeat over Chico State before a packed house in the Spartan mat room. The visitors dropped a similar decision in 1963. Stone pinned Al Everett in the 123-pound division while Harm disposed of Larry Thompson in the 177-pound match. The Wildcats picked up points in only two matches: Mike Simpson beat the Spartans' John Lim (130) and Stan Benson out pointed Gary Scardina (167). Hugh Mumby's wrestlers won four matches by decision. Art Beatty (137) defeated Dennis Studor, Frank Strouse (147), Cliff Olson (157) turned back Ken Harris, and Don Anderson (hwt) defeated Wayne Cooke. SJS has scored an earlier dual meet win over Fresno State this year. The next home match for the SJS matmen will be against Stanford on Feb. 11. |
