SJSU Wrestling Archives The Spartan Daily 1-12-40                   Mel Bruno Meets Olympic Club Ace           Mel Bruno, Spartan wrestling star for the past two years, has been selected to headline a card of outstanding Northern California amateur wrestlers at the Finnish Relief Ball tomorrow night, Jan. 13, in San Francisco. The event, sponsored by the White Russian Society of San Francisco, under the direction of Prince Romonov, the nephew of the Czar, falls on the Russian New Year's Eve. All proceeds will be donated for Finnish relief in their war against the Red Russian government. Bruno will meet Pete Antefae of the Olympic Club in the feature match of the evening. These two are old rivals, having met several times before, with Bruno winning narrowly every time. Antefae finished third in the 1939 National AAU tournament behind Bruno who was second.
