| Despite efforts to keep Smith as head coach and Mumby's desire to retire, Hugh Mumby guided the SJSU team for his final season in 1971. In 1972, Mumby found a former student of his to take his place, two-time Olympian Russ Camilleri. Besides being involved in two separate Olympics, Camilleri has thirteen AAU National Titles to his credit. |
